Discipline.

Such a great day today. Sun was shining and it was really warm (I mean it was +20 degrees celsius, that´s warm in here). I went shopping, got a dress for my graduation. Pretty black/white dress, nothing too fancy but I like it. And the shoes. Oh, they are something. Can´t wait that I get to wear them. Also got paid on Thursday, so I actually have some money now. Recordshopping tomorrow (online of course), have to pay because not every band is like Nine Inch Nails. They just gave their new single for free. Okay, I´m a little late with this since I haven´t been online since Monday. Anyway, Discipline, is available here.
Download. Listen. Enjoy. And remeber to buy Ghosts I-IV also. I am a bad fan, I don´t have it yet, completely, but will get it until the end of next week.

And I couldn´t have believed this, but I was actually happy that Chelsea beat ManU today. Schadenfreude.

In A Little While.

I keep getting weird dreams. And they are all connected to travelling (1 month and 4 weeks left). Last night I dreamt that I was in Budapest with my dad, brother and sister-in-law. We were going to some museum but it was too expensive, so we decided to skip it and get back to the hotel which seemed like it was supposed to be somewhere in South America or something. Probably not really what Hungary is going to be. I have also dreamed that I was taking my driver´s test in Tallinn. Thank god I didn´t have to do it, though the traffic isn´t such a nightmare as it was few years ago.

I just remembered that I should arrange my Flickr account, remove all the bad photos (actually most of the photos...). I was thinking that I could do it during the weekend while taking a break from watching The Band of Brothers, but I didn´t do either. Didn´t wacth it (next weekend or I´ll never see it) because I spend the entire Saturday putting on wallpaper. It was horrible. Wallpaper paste everywhere and trying to get them straight... Won´t be doing that again anytime soon.

I´m also going to miss 30 Seconds To Mars´ first gig here in Finland, because I´m supposed to be in either Turku or Naantali at that time. Not actually that bad since I´ll see Foo Fighters which is a million times bigger thing to me. I liked 30STM when they were relatively unknown here but now that every single teengirl knows them... My band is stolen from me. Just like Lapko was a little over a year ago when everyone suddenly started to like it. Well, I still have The Shins, Editors, Bloc Party, all the indie bands that are critically acclaimed but not that popular here. Yet. Let me keep them, you can listen to what ever boring heavy metal band you like. I´m so looking forward to my first paycheck ´cause I have maybe ten records that I have wanted for ages but couldn´t have bought.

Gotta do something usefull now. Like get the extremely annoying Rick Astley song off my head. I haven´t been Rickrolled for a long time but then all of a sudden it started playing on my head on Friday and I haven´t gotten it off yet...

Broken Promise.

I can tell I´ve been watching way too much Shameless lately. Seriously, I know, say, 93 % of the intro by heart. If someone came and asked me how it went I would know. "Nobody´s saying that Chatsworth Estate is the garden of Eden, but it´s been a good home..." I have seen the first season and half of the second (and of course third and the couple episodes of fourth that have aired so far, not sure if I´ll watch them online and stop recording it). The firsts are great. Really great. There was nothing wrong with the third either, but I´m not sure if I like the fourth or not. Something is missing... Maybe it´s the characters. Though I did laugh my head off when watching last Sunday´s episode. The thing with the horse. Dad looked at me like I was a maniac. And I love having subtitles. That is the only thing that bugs me when watching it online, not having subtitles, because I´m not that good in English that I would get everything they´re saying. Most of it, but not all. Oh, actually that is not the only thing. The other thing is that James McAvoy´s eyes look like they´re brown when they are not. Believe me, I know they are blue. Watching The Last King of Scotland on my TV was a bit disturbing. Anyway, everyone should watch at least one episode and try not to like it. I still have a few left. I should be reading for exams, but somehow it´s just more interesting to do something completely different.

And for a moment I really considered going to see R.E.M. this fall just because of the supports, but then I changed my mind. I probably never want to see Editors live if it´s like their performance on Later With Jools Holland. I was like, what the hell is Tom Smith doing with his hands. It was so odd. Apart from that I liked it. Maybe I just stick to listening to their album.

A reading tip, as it appears I have given one almost every time. Anything by Oscar Wilde. I´m currently reading The Happy Prince And Other Tales, but I warmly recommed The Picture of Dorian Gray. One of my favourite books. Don´t ask why, I have no idea. I just happen to like it. Now I´m actually going to read something about journalism. Make an effort.

Falling Away With You.

So they lost. How nice... And I now have to be on the side of Liverpool, because it really much seems like the other teams playing for final are my all-time-hate-teams (Chelsea, Manchested United and Barcelona). That is not how you play good football. Not at all. I have the game recorded but I´m not sure if I want to watch the second half or not. Maybe during the weekend if I have nothing better to do. I mean, it was no boring game, on the contrary. And this is pretty Finnish, being on the side of the losers. It´s like every ice hockey game against Sweden. FInland can have a 5-1 lead but they still lose it 5-6. Okay, maybe not every time, but you get the idea.

And something to cheer everyone up. The video of Disco Ensemble´s new song Bad Luck Charm. Great song, even greater band. Jussi looks a bit odd without glasses but I like his hair. And Miikka is always lovely. The entire band is, but Miikka tops them all as he is my idol.

I´m going to watch some Shameless now. At least that doesn´t let me dow.

Love Is In The Air.

I just found this again and I have to share. For those who get this: congratulations and I am really sorry. For those who don´t: Apparently, you have never watched MTV in the middle of the night and seen the worst and probably longest video ever made.

Magic Recoveries.

I had "fun" in the morning. "Fun" because it was 5 am and the piece of news I was reading wasn´t all that pleasant. For all those who don´t already know (is there someone?), I´m an Arsenal FC fan and also support the Czech Republic national football team. Well, this morning I read that it looks like Tomas Rosicky is going to miss the European Championship. Not nice at all. It appears that his "not a serious one but a strange one" injury is somewhat serious after all. Last two months it has been said that it is his hamstring that is bugging him, but the newspaper mentioned knee. So there is something wrong with his leg one could say, I guess. Wenger reports that Rosicky has added speed to his running without pain, but that no significant evolution has happenend. (I really hope the Gunners are going to beat Liverpool tonight even though Rosicky isn´t playing, because a draw at the Champions League means that those games are over. Unfortunately. And a defeat is something I don´t even want to think about...)
So, if Rosicky isn´t able to play this summer (which we don´t wish), who is going to be the captain of the Czechs? I read a mention of Nedved maybe returning the team, but please... He decided to quit playing at the national team so why come back now? Surely he must have something else to do and let the young ones show what they can do. Let´s hope that the rest of the team stays healthy, especially the forwards. (Remember the World Championship 2006? Well, their forwards weren´t doing well at the time.)

Why did I have "fun" in the morning? Because the piece of news was nothing new to me. I´ve been worrying about Rosicky´s leg for two months now and the national team has been my constant worry ever since it was clear that they´d actually qualify. And ´cause Rosicky was called a starplayer.

Let´s just hope everyone stays healthy/recovers in time and that we are going to see marvellous football (both tonight and summer). And a reading tip for those who found this at least bit interesting. Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. Blame him.

Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me.

I saw a really bizarre dream last night. First, I was on board on a huge cruise ship. Honestly, it was bigger than I have ever seen, but it was a dream so... That wasn´t the weird part though. On board, there was an enormous book store. Two floors and probably every single book ever published. In the dream I only noticed a shelf filled with Lonely Planet guide books. Then suddenly I was on a plane. It wasn´t a 747 or anything, there were only twenty passengers or so. I have no idea where it was going, but it took off in a desert somewhere in Iran. I don´t need anyone to interpret the dream, I think I know why I saw it. The places just were so crazy. Iran isn´t my first choice for a nice little vacation. Or even second. And I remember dreaming of a bookstore earlier. I recall that the store was located in an old gothic church. Gosh, if only in real life...

I just read Naive.Super by Erlend Loe again. I had forgotten how great a novel it is. I love the protagonist as he keeps making lists of things, because that is just what I do very often. Somehow it´s very relaxing book. I would recommend it to every single person on this planet. And don´t forget to buy a small red ball after reading it just like I did.

Ego.

Starting my second blog. This time in English. Apparently I do imagine that I have enough stories to tell. Well, maybe I decide to do something that might be at least slightly interesting. Or then I just keep writing the same nonsense I´ve done this far. What am I writing about? About my obsessions: music, sports and travelling.

Oh and the pretty green picture I´m currently using. I don´t know whose it is, but I love it. And the name of my blog is also a song by Chris Cornell from his first solo album Euphoria Morning. I hope he doesn´t mind me using it, because I really like it (name and the song). :)
