Ramblin´ Man.

First. Keys and White to perform the new Bond theme song? What the hell? I mean, Jack White will prolly make it a great piece of music, but performing it with Alicia Keys... No. Keys is annoying, I can´t stand her. They are such opposites. There are only two options. Either the duet will be the greatest thing ever or it will be horrible. I am very much afraid it might be the latter one. Got to wait till we can hear it, but... And I still think Cornell´s You Know My Name is the best Bond song ever. Which easily gets us to Mr. Chris Cornell and his upcoming third solo album. As everyone who knows how this blog got its´ name knows that I have been a huge Cornell fan. Now I´m not so sure. Working with Timbaland (who should stop making music, seriously, his works are terrible most of the time). Doesn´t sound good. Is Cornell getting desperate? His second solo didn´t sell that much and people still want to hear him sing Soundgarden hits. His second album had some good bits, but if the best really is the Billie Jean cover... Can´t judge anything before hearing, but I wouldn´t be too excited.

A small portion of football before a movie review. Arsenal has inked a deal with a 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder Amaury Bischoff. He used to play for Werder Bremen. Wenger is really sticking to his youth theme, all his purchases this summer have been relatively young. I don´t blame, it just makes the game more interesting. Arsenal is also playing Stuttgart tonight and what makes things interesting is that Jens Lehmann is now goalie for the German. Should be good, I´ll see if I can find a live stream of the game.

Why so serious? The Dark Knight was good. A lot of action. Loved Ledger´s Joker, really creates pressure to the next guy trying to play the role. Yes, I admit, I wanted to see the movie because of the Joker. Ledger really did a fantastic job. One of the funniest (yes) characters. Writers can have some glory, the script obviously has great dialogue, but the Joker´s lines win. Eckhart as Dent/Two-Face does impressive job too. Two-Face is one of my personal Batman favourites, don´t ask why. Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman is good, but Ledger´s Joker really beats them all. Bale is hell of a lot better Batman than some of the others, like Clooney... The plot isn´t that marvelous, but it has its´ moments. Some things aren´t explained well enough, like the thing with Jim Gordon or Ramirez. The fate of Lau is also not told, but it doesn´t spoil the movie. All in all, it´s really worth the money, but I´m not sure whether Ledger deserves the Oscar everyone is ready to hand him. He´s good, but is he really that good, I don´t know. Visually the movie is amazing. I loved the colours and some of the scenes were breathtakingly good-looking. The actors, all of them, did a good job and the hype around the movie hasn´t been in vain. Maybe it´s a bit too long and some of the plots could have been left out to make it even more coherent. If you like action, but don´t like movies made of comics and are hesitating if you should see the movie, I´ll say go for it. Deserves at least three stars out of five, I might give it four. Not a waste of money, unless you usually prefer romantic comedies. Then maybe.

We did also check out Anton Corjbin´s Retrospective. Really impressive photos. He is damn good. I have liked his works, but seeing more than matchbox sized pictures make me like them even more. He has his unique style and even those blurry pictures looked great. I would die to get his Joy Division and Jeff Buckley pictures on my wall. Shame I can never afford them. If you are somewhere near Helsinki, go check out his magnificent black and white photos until it´s too late. It´s up until the end of August, so you´d better hurry up.

I got to make a list of things to take with me tomorrow. Finally Emmi and I can share an uncensored version of our trip...
