Emmi and I went to see Wanted today. I think it was funnier than it should have been. I know it´s because we just got home from Europe. Spoilers ahead, of course. The movie has no proper plot, or it does, but it won´t win an Oscars. It is a pure action movie and should be enjoyed as one. The scenes are well done and the dialogue is funny. And it´s not too long. Very realistic when showing all the blood and gory stuff, but not so much when showing the trainings or the healing bath (that I would love to have). McAvoy is great as Wesley though his accent is so odd. Freeman as Sloan is as good as Freeman always is. The end especially is great, never before have I laughed so much to an "Oh, shit." than now. Surely not the greatest movie made this year, but serves its´ purpose. Music made me smile, because I had to try really hard not to laugh when Every Day Is Excactly The Same strated playing. The song is too funny. I laughed too much too, for a movie that is not a comedy. The train and the place in Moravia and the truck with pictures of kittens and puppies that Cross drives in the beginning. Oh, the cars were lovely too. Loved the Mustang Wesley/McAvoy was driving. (Very off-topic, but why the hell does McAvoy´s favourite pub in London locate in Highbury? You know what else is there...) All in all, I liked the movie and if any of you reading this are into that kind of action stuff you should see it. Can´t wait to see The Dark Knight next week. And I have to check out the Narnia movie eventhough I haven´t seen the first one. But I was told it´s not very good. Maybe this one is an my money won´t be completely wasted.
And other news. In Italy we were wondering what Tom Cruise has been doing lately, movie-wise. Well, after Mission Impossible III he made Lions For Lambs in 2007. Not much. And all this because we happened to watch The Last Samurai on Rai Uno.
Football. The Blues have more re-inked deals. Essien has just signed a deal for five years with Chelsea. Former Blues midfielder Makelele is now officially a part of the Paris St. Germain team. Chelsea should be having a pretty strong midfield this season, but we´ll see. For us Gooners I am sad to tell that Eduardo has taken a step back with his recovery and is likely to miss the first two months of the season. And it still isn´t clear what the status of Gallas and Adebayor is. Only three weeks left till the season begins. Which reminds me that I really have to ask dad if I could loan his credit card once again. There are other interesting matches that the one we have in mind, but the one against Portsmouth is pretty much out of the question, since it´s on December 28, only two days after the boxing day match and around Christmas-New year time. Like the one isn´t, but it´s a different thing. I am willing to spend all the money I have left on two things,on a match and on a long trip to south. That will be expensive. Nothing interesting on the transfer front today.
Tomorrow I am going to see grandma, so she can see that I´m alive. And then all the relatives at Heinola. I´m already terrified. All the questions I´m about to face... Someone might have to listen me complain about that. The weekend should be one at our summer cottage but I´m getting out of there as soon as it´s possible. I´m dying of boredom here, so imagine a place in the middle of nowhere and more nothing to do. That´s right.
//Short update. Fuck Brits. Unless I move to the UK and open a bank account there, there is no fucking way to get to a match. The only way to buy a membership is via direct debit that, of course, isn´t used in Finland. So much for that dream then.
